We're Here, We're Cold, We're Sick, and We're Having Fun!

We arrived in Washington D.C. late Saturday night.

Superman and I started the trip with mild colds, but by Sunday we had nasty coughs and were feeling really yucky. He's doing much better now, but I'm still dealing with some bronchial stuff. I'd really appreciate your prayers for healing for us and that no one else catches whatever we've got!

Illness aside, we've still managed to have a really good time.

It's been years since I've been here, and I had forgotten what a beautiful city this is.

The weather is freezing cold, ten degrees below average for this time of year we've been told, and it even snowed a bit today! Between bundling up and using the Metro and the Tourmobile we're able to stay somewhat warm and see the sights.

Here's a quick overview of what we've done so far:

-Washington Monument
-National Air and Space Museum
-Bureau of Engraving and Printing
-Union Station
-National Museum of History
-Arlington Cemetery (We saw the changing of the guard and a special wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.)
-Korean War Memorial
-Vietnam Memorial
-Lincoln Memorial
-Mount Vernon (George Washington's Home)

I'll try to post pictures and more details tomorrow night, but I'm off to bed now because we have to get up early in the morning to tour the White House - we are so excited!

Thanks again for your prayers.

  4. Thanks for the encouragement ladies!

Heather - the American History Museum opens back up the day that we're leaving! I was so bummed when I found that out. Maybe next time around!
