Homeschool Memoirs #6: A Summer Photo Essay

Here is the Homeschool Memoirs theme for this week:

"This week I want to invite you to take a moment and post a Summer Photo Essay memoir. Starting from around the official date of Summer to this past week - just give a basic summary of your summer as I know someone of you are photoholics! Haha! Make sure you jot down your memoirs about each photo so everyone can read about your summer. You can do the essay however you want. You can journal a lot of just caption the photo! Can’t wait to see what you all do!"

This was a fun assignment but a difficult one for me. I'm the kind of person who wants to scrapbook every single photo in my box - KWIM?

I had a hard time pairing our whole summer down to just a handful of photos, photo essay quickly turned into more of a photo novel.

Thanks for bearing with the length of it. Hope you enjoy!

Kurt and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in the Tennessee mountains.

We took a beach vacation to one of our favorite places on earth - St. Simons Island, Georgia.

We stayed with my aunt, uncle, and my only girl cousin, Danielle, who is really like my sister. The kids adore her! :)

After saying goodbye to SSI, we headed north to Macon, Georgia. We celebrated Superman's birthday with my parents at the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta. ( By the way, the Ga. Aquarium is a very cool place.)

We stayed in Georgia for over a week, so I had the rare opportunity to see my dear, dear college friends and roomies. We met up with Laura and her baby girl at a mall in Atlanta. This was my first time seeing beautiful little Baby A. What a cutie pie! The kids loved playing with her.

This is my sweet friend Lori, who I've known since high school, and we were roomies in college. She knows all the good, the bad, and the ugly about me for sure, and she still loves me anyway! :) She was eight months pregnant in this photo, and she gave birth to her beautiful baby girl, her third child, two weeks ago. Congratulations, Lori and Wayne, on precious little Emma!

We always like to spend lots of time with my grandparents when we visit down South. This is my Granddaddy with Superman, who is his namesake. These two have a special relationship.

After we returned home from our travels, Giggly Girl celebrated her birthday with friends at a kids' paint shop. They made tie-dyed t-shirts and had a blast! This was a terrific party for our little art enthusiast.

At the end of the summer we had a Kindergarten graduation/End-of-school-year program. My parents along with some dear friends came over to see the kids sing, recite, and receive their certificates and diplomas. The kids were excited, and everyone enjoyed the special evening. We had Bob Evans carryout for dinner afterwards!

Thanks for stopping by to see what we were up to this summer!
