Before we began our homeschool journey almost two years ago, I did lots of reading and surfing the internet and talking to friends who homeschooled. Somewhere in all of that research I heard about a curriculum called Five in a Row. We were in the process of moving, so I filed it away in my memory banks to check into later. Shortly after hearing of it that first time, I was talking on the phone with my college roommate and long-time friend Lori, who was also thinking of homeschooling her oldest. She asked me if I had heard of Five in a Row. I told her I had, and she said she thought I ought to take a look at it. I'm so thankful she did. I got online and read everything I could find on the website. After seeing all of the wonderful literature that this curriculum was based on, I was hooked! I ordered a copy of Before Five in a Row and began frequenting the message boards while I waited for it to arrive. We began our Five in a Row adventures that spring before I planned to begin "officially" homeschooling Superman in the fall for Pre-K. The Carrot Seed was the first book we "rowed", and we had so much fun! I am so thankful we found this wonderful curriculum at the very beginning of our journey. The Lambert family has a genuine heart for families and for helping homeschoolers. I have gleaned so much from the wisdom and experiences they have taken the time to share on the FIAR message boards. Last week Steve announced that he and Jane have both entered the world of blogging, so it is with great excitement that I am adding their blogs to my sidebar. I encourage you to stop over and visit Jane Claire's Nature Notes and Steve's blog, As Boompa Sees It.
