The Snowy Day

I planned a snow unit for these last two weeks counting on the weather reports that promised lots of snow. As it turns out we only got a few days of flurries accumulating to an inch or so. It has been really cold, though, and we've had a lot of fun reading winter books and doing some of the snowy activities I had planned.
One of our favorite books is The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats. We've read it quite a few times, and the children enjoy following Peter's adventures in the white stuff. One day last week when we had a little bit of snow in which to play, we went out and had our own snowy day fun, complete with snow angels and a snowball fight. You can see how little accumulation there was in these photos, but it was plenty as far as Giggly Girl and Superman were concerned!
Wishing you a warm weekend with your family - whatever your weather may be. :)

  1. I am soooo jelous. We have been wishing for snow all winter. But none so far! We usually get a couple snows each year, at least good enough for a little sledding.
