Fall Fun!

Welcome to our new home here at Blogger! I haven't transferred my old posts from Homeschool Blogger over here yet, but I'll be doing that (very) gradually over the next few weeks. In the meantime, if you're looking for an old post, you can still find those at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/songofmyheart/

For the last two weeks we have been busy enjoying all things fall. We just finished up a unit on leaves, which included some fun and messy artwork and a couple of great family field trips too. Here are some pics. that I hope you'll enjoy. (Below the pics. I'll post our book list for the leaf unit - so many good books that we enjoyed reading together!)

Leaf hunt at a favorite nature trail near our home:

Leaf prints - lots of fun to make!
Our annual trip to a beautiful fruit farm. We enjoyed some yummy treats (apple cider donuts and fall cookies) from the farm's bakery shop, picked out some pumpkins, and had a nice visit with the farm animals. The animals were the kids' favorite!

This last picture is very special because each year for the last few years we have taken a picture of the kids on this old wagon wheel at the farm. It's fun to see how our family has grown and changed over the years.

The leaf unit was a fun study. The kids are still pointing out leaves and trees to me and noticing the fall colors that remain, although they were scarce here this year! Here is our reading list. There were so many great "leaf" books to be found that we really could have continued this study for another week. Enjoy!

  1. Oh man...where's the pink??

Love your new home! Hey how'd you get the counter going? Of course, putting one on may mean disappointment that no one really looks!
